Construction Management and Field Services, Public Works for the City of San Diego
Mentors
Tony Perez Senior Engineer
Myrna M. Dayton P.E., QSP/QSD, Assistant Director and Deputy Chief City Engineer
I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to complete a four week internship for the Construction Management and Field Services section of Public Works for the City of San Diego. Throughout my four weeks I journaled daily, took lots of pictures, conducted an interview with one of my mentors and worked on an internship project. I also shadowed city resident engineers to their different project sites and progress meetings and visited different branches of Public Works, including ride alongs with the surveyors, working with materials lab technicians, and visiting the design team at their Downtown office.
